Auditions and Registration

Thursday, February 8th from 600-8:30pm
Sunday, February 11th from 2:00-4:30pm

Auditions will involve the reading of sides (script pages) from the current show with other actors. Actors who demonstrate confidence, strong voices and commitment to their performance will be considered for larger roles. A casual approach to auditions - monotones, quiet voices and absence of intensity - will result in casual casting.

If you wish to sing in the show: please be prepared to sing a song of your choice acapella. Your song should be no more than 2 minutes in length, thank you. There are not enough songs for the number of kids who wish to sing, so actors who project confidence, range, voice strength and ability to stay on key will be awarded vocals in the show.

If you wish to dance in the show: please be prepared to perform a dance routine of no more than two minutes. Bring remember to bring your own playback source.

If all you wish to do is act: don’t worry - there are plenty of roles that will not require singing or dancing.

As usual, both auditions will take place in the bungalows behind the the Hollywood Lutheran Church:

Hollywood Lutheran Church

1733 North New Hampshire Ave
 Hollywood, 90027
(one block east of Vermont, just north of Sunset).

Age range is 8 and older. No exceptions.

Actors must commit to the production once we begin rehearsals. Dropping out causes nightmares in re-casting and causes a ripple effect of headaches for actors, families and our staff. And your name will be used in vain. So if you commit, we expect you to stay committed.

There will a mandatory SCTG Parent Orientation at the Hollywood Lutheran Church on Tuesday, February 13th at 7pm. We expect one parent from each family - SCTG vets and newbies - to attend. We will not have cast the play yet, so attendance (or lack of) will influence our final decisions.

Registration fee is $550.
The fee includes 10 performance tickets valued at $200 ($20 each).
The idea is for you to sell the tickets and recoup $200, making your actual reg fee $350.
$50 second child discount.
$50 discount for each new student you refer who joins and pays a registration fee.
Recommend two new students and you get $100 discount, etc…
